Haunted Theatre Takes Visitors To The ‘Comus’ – WCBI

Summary:

2016’s Haunted Theatre at Tupelo’s Lyric Theatre centered on a doomed spacecraft, the “Comus,” a ship that had vanished in the 1960s and reappeared decades later. Under director Steve Miller, the 11th annual event adopted a sci-fi theme in which visitors started in the cockpit and wound through multiple sections of the ship, occasionally exiting and re-entering. About 36 actors performed each night, and volunteers spent weeks transforming the venue into a detailed space odyssey. Attendees praised the scares and immersion, and all proceeds – from tickets to T-shirts – benefited Tupelo Community Theatre.
